  Hot stone/crystal massage
Hot Stone
Where did Hot Stone Massage originate?
Native Americans warmed hot stones by a fire to treat aching muscles. A hot stone massage takes a lot of skill and sensitivity on the part of the therapist and it should leave you feeling totally relaxed and stress free. The heated stones are placed at various trigger points on the body and muscles. This is. This is so that the heat from the stone helps to relax tense muscles and is very soothing to the mind as well as the body. Due to the healing properties of crystals, Sheena's Healing Hands chooses to use crystals to assist the body in healing itself. This will enable the body to take Hot Stone Massage to another level.

What is Hot Stone/Crystal Massage?
Hot Stone/Crystal Therapy combines the benefits of thermotherapy and hydrotherapy. The massage strokes help the body heal and relax on a deeper level than with other massage techniques. It is very critical for the therapist to regulate the temperature so that the client is not injured. During this special massage technique, Stone and Crystal therapy brings a new and deeper dimension of relaxation and healing to the body. Therefore, it requires more preparation time prior to the massage than other massage techniques you may have experienced before. Therefore, Hot Stone Massage in general is more expensive, but the benefits are amazing and I must admit this is my personal preferred massage.

What happens during a Treatment?
During a treatment, you will relax on the massage table, covered with towels. Hot basalt stones are placed on specific areas of your body, and crystals will be placed on your chakras or energy centres. You will be massaged using hot basalt stones and organic massage oil, on one part of your body at a time. Essential oils will be diffused in the treatment room to add another dimension to healing whilst you receive your massage. Your bodies’ chi energy flow (the Yin and Yang) will improve by balancing and strengthening with the use of the crystals and the heat and the “ grounding “ sensation of the stones on the chakras.

This is the type of massage to choose if you need a deeply comforting and nurturing experience. This can be done in an hour, but a 90 min treatment will allow for more time to let the relaxation process unfold and make you feel truly nurtured.
